Privacy Policy

Proximum is a calendar widget. It works best when it can read your events — and it does that in the way that keeps them most private: on your device. Proximum needs no account and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking, and we never sell personal data.

What Proximum reads

To display your schedule, Proximum requests read access to your calendars through Apple's EventKit. You grant this in iOS Settings and can revoke it at any time. Proximum shows only the calendars you select in the app. It never creates, edits or deletes events.

Where your data lives

Your events — titles, times, locations and calendar colors — are read on your device and shown in the app and its widgets. Proximum keeps no copy of your calendar on any server.

Two optional Pro features use Proximum's own service, which runs on Cloudflare and delivers through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Each sends only what is described below, and only while you have it turned on.

Live Activity (optional, Pro)

A Live Activity is updated at the start and end of your events even while Proximum is closed. To do this, Proximum sends the content shown in that Live Activity — such as the event title, times, calendar name and, when displayed, the venue — together with an anonymous, per-activity Apple push token to Proximum's service, which updates or ends the Live Activity at those times.

Each scheduled job is deleted after its final update, when you turn the feature off, or when Apple reports that the token is no longer valid. No job is kept longer than eight days, including up to one hour after its final update for delivery retries.

Morning digest (optional, Pro)

So that the digest describes your calendar as it is that morning, Proximum sends your device's Apple push token, the digest hour you chose and your device's time zone (for example "Europe/Copenhagen") to Proximum's service. The service sends one push at that hour each day.

The push contains no calendar data. The digest text is written on your iPhone, from your calendar, when the push arrives. The booking is deleted when you turn the digest off, when Apple reports that the token is no longer valid, or after 30 days without the app renewing it. A local notification also stays scheduled on your device as a fallback.

Location and travel time

Leave-by alerts are optional and off by default. When you turn them on, your device uses its current location and an event's venue with Apple's geocoding and directions services to estimate travel time. Proximum's service never receives your GPS or device location. Venue coordinates and recent route results may be cached on your device to avoid repeating requests.

What else stays on your device

• Your settings and themes — accent color, theme, layout and typography — are stored only on your device.
• Leave-by alerts are scheduled on your device.
• Anonymous crash reports may be sent through Apple if you have diagnostics sharing turned on in iOS. They contain no calendar content.

Purchases

Optional upgrades are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details; Apple shares only the transaction status needed to unlock features.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts Proximum's service, and Apple delivers its pushes through APNs. Both process these requests as infrastructure providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your choices

There is no Proximum account or user profile to delete. You can stop the processing described above by turning off Live Activity or the morning digest in Proximum, revoking calendar or location access in iOS Settings, and managing Live Activities and notifications in iOS Settings.

Children

Proximum is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and note significant changes in the app's release notes.
